Director, Health Systems (Canada) | 2 Year Contract
Annual Salary: CA$140,000
Men are dying too young - and it doesn’t have to be that way.
Around the world, men are facing a health crisis: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and suicide. At Movember we’re on a mission to change the face of men’s health by making it easier for men to talk, act and live longer healthier lives.

Every project, every campaign, every idea adds up to real change. You’ll be part of a mustache-powered crew who believe making an impact and having fun should go hand in hand. Your mission is calling.
DO GOOD. Work for Movember.
Your Mo-Mission (should you choose to accept it):
Healthcare systems weren't built with men in mind. You'll help change that. As our Director, Health Systems (Canada), you'll lead the strategic implementation of Movember's Health Systems portfolio across Canada, driving meaningful, systemic improvement in the way health systems and healthcare professionals engage with men's health.
This is a newly created foundational leadership role. You'll grow Movember's presence in the Canadian market, building strategic partnerships with provincial health systems, healthcare organisations, insurance and benefits providers, universities, and government to scale Men in Mind, our evidence-based training program, to thousands of mental health and primary care professionals across the country. You'll develop and execute pilot-to-scale partnership models, negotiate commercial arrangements that demonstrate clear return on investment, and position Movember as a trusted voice in gender-responsive healthcare across Canada.
The portfolio you'll lead operates across four interconnected areas: Health Professional Training, Systems Research, Health Literacy, and System-Level Leadership. That means you'll be overseeing everything from the localisation and delivery of Men in Mind for Canadian healthcare contexts and accreditation requirements, to systems mapping research, to public-facing campaigns that help Canadian men navigate the health system and engage with their own wellbeing.
At the policy level, you'll lead Movember's health systems advocacy work in Canada, building relationships with Health Canada and provincial health ministries, convening healthcare leaders and policymakers, and working to embed gender-responsive approaches into health strategy at both federal and provincial levels.
You'll manage a small but growing team, including the Program Manager, Health Systems (Canada) and, in collaboration with the Global Director, provide strategic oversight to our Implementation Lead in California. As the portfolio scales, you'll also help build the business case for growing the Canadian team further.
This is a two-year fixed-term role based in Toronto, reporting to the Global Director, Health Systems. Some international and domestic travel is required, including periodic trips to California and approximately two to three international trips per year. Bilingual English and French capability is an asset.
If you're a senior health leader with deep knowledge of the Canadian healthcare landscape, a track record of building complex multi-stakeholder partnerships, and the drive to create lasting systemic change for men's health, we'd love to hear from you.
No Moustache Required - but the following are:
A degree in a health-related field such as public health, health services, health policy, or psychology
Significant experience in senior program leadership, strategy development, and implementation in health, social sector, or related fields
Demonstrated ability to build and manage complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships across government, corporate, and not-for-profit organisations
Experience leading teams and managing direct reports, with a track record of coaching and developing staff
Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system, including provincial structures, primary care, and mental health service delivery
Proven capability in managing commercial partnerships and demonstrating return on investment
Experience developing and executing pilot-to-scale models in partnership with healthcare or insurance organisations
Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across complex programs
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent an organisation at senior stakeholder forums
A genuine commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, including experience engaging Indigenous communities and other underserved populations
Not Mission Critical - but for extra bonus points:
Experience working in men's health, mental health, or gender-responsive healthcare
Familiarity with health professional education, continuing professional development, or evidence-based practitioner training programs
Knowledge of the Canadian health policy landscape, including federal and provincial mental health strategies
Experience with implementation science, monitoring and evaluation, or evidence-based program development
Experience working within or alongside insurance and benefits providers, Employee Assistance Programs, or managed care organisations
Bilingual English and French capability
International work experience, particularly in comparable health systems such as the UK, Australia, or the US

GOOD CAUSE:
Working for Movember, you’ll help turn ideas (and moustaches) into millions for men’s health. Every bit we raise changes the face of men’s health by funding research, improving treatments, and supporting programs that help save lives.
We’re even shaping government policies on men’s health worldwide. By meeting directly with lawmakers, and helping them understand how more investment on men’s health benefits not just men, but all the communities they serve.

GOOD VIBES:
We love weekends. That’s why our Fridays finish early for nine months of the year. But we also love our office vibe. Because here, it always feels like something big is about to happen. Be it an office-wide surprise birthday party (with cake!) or an open invite for all to hit the pub.
Come the hairy season, the energy cranks up. We’re talking celebrity visits. Live stunts on-site for TV and radio. And when we hit a fundraising milestone, the office gong might even go off. But, for those who prefer calm, no probs: hybrid working means you work where you feel best.

GOOD CREW:
Spoiler alert: we’re a no-ego, all-impact crew. That means everyone gets a say, from new starters to those leading the charge. Collaboration over hierarchies, curiosity over rigid process. And it’s true across all our offices worldwide. We work as one, sharing expertise and celebrating wins. All in the name of making the biggest impact across the globe. United, we Mo.

Boy, do we know the feeling of being judged. (Over how we look, and other things that shouldn’t matter.) Being different is how we started. And it’s also helped us raise $1 billion for men’s health. So, we know the power of diverse experiences, skills and perspectives.
Movember is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community and workplace - a place where we can all be ourselves, and each have the equal opportunity to succeed and be recognised for our unique contribution. We value the experiences, skills and perspectives of all individuals and actively encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds. We make recruitment decisions based on applicants’ skills, experience, and knowledge, ensuring all applicants are treated fairly. Reasonable accommodations are also available on request for differently abled candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
A quick note on AI
We use our AI mate Joel to help with the first stage of screening. It lets more great candidates move past the application stage and into the process faster. Don’t worry though, real humans make all the final decisions. And if you’d rather skip Joel and chat with a recruiter instead, you’ll always have that option.

If so, we’d love to hear from you.
