Head of PR & Comms - UK & Europe | 14 Month Contract
Annual Salary: £67,000 - £70,000
Men are dying too young – and it doesn’t have to be that way.
Around the world, men are facing a health crisis: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and suicide. At Movember we’re on a mission to change the face of men’s health by making it easier for men to talk, act and live longer healthier lives.

Every project, every campaign, every idea adds up to real change. You’ll be part of a purpose-fueled crew who believe making an impact and having fun should go hand in hand. Your mission is calling.
DO GOOD. Work for Movember.
Your Mo-Mission (should you choose to accept it):
This is a senior communications leadership role for someone who eats the news agenda for breakfast and knows exactly how to make men's health impossible to ignore.
As Head of PR & Communications – UK & Europe, you'll cover a 14-month period of parental leave in a critical leadership position – stepping in with confidence and hitting the ground running. You'll own Movember's external narrative across the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe, leading a year-round earned media and communications programme and driving Movember's reputation as the definitive voice on men's health, mental health, and modern masculinity. You'll also counsel senior leaders on reputation, risk, and opportunity when it matters most.
You'll line-manage the Impact Communications Manager in the UK, support the Marketing & Communications Manager in Ireland, and oversee a roster of PR agencies across France, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Strategic and hands-on in equal measure.
What you'll be doing
Leading the UK & Europe PR and communications strategy, aligned to global priorities but built for local relevance and impact
Driving proactive, insight-led media relations across broadcast, national, digital, and specialist outlets – quality and influence over volume, always
Developing a clear channel strategy to reach priority audiences, from mass awareness through to policy and sector specialists
Building and maintaining senior media relationships – journalists, producers, editors – and positioning Movember as the go-to expert voice on men's health
Leading issues and crisis communications, and providing reputation counsel to senior leadership
Overseeing European agency relationships and integrated campaign delivery across markets including France, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Ireland
Translating Movember's research, impact, and advocacy priorities into compelling, audience-first storytelling
Managing spokespeople, influencer, and ambassador relationships, including media training for internal experts and senior leaders
Ensuring always-on communications presence outside of major campaign periods
Identifying and securing awards and speaking opportunities for Movember and its leaders
No Moustache Required - but the following are:
10+ years in PR and communications for high-profile, cutting-edge brands or organisations
A genuine passion for the news cycle, a sharp news instinct, and the ability to move fast when it matters
Proven track record of top-tier media coverage across national, broadcast, and digital channels
Experience managing PR agencies across multiple simultaneous campaigns
Comfortable operating at senior leadership level – you're as credible in the boardroom as you are in a journalist briefing
Experience working with celebrity talent, influencers, and high-profile spokespeople
Superior writing skills – from a punchy press release to a complex policy messaging framework
Experience in social media and owned channel strategy, with strong tech literacy
Not Mission Critical - but for extra bonus points:
Experience in the charity or health sector is a bonus, but your passion for the mission matters more

GOOD CAUSE:
Working for Movember, you’ll help turn ideas (and moustaches) into millions for men’s health. Every bit we raise changes the face of men’s health by funding research, improving treatments, and supporting programs that help save lives.
We’re even shaping government policies on men’s health worldwide. By meeting directly with lawmakers, and helping them understand how more investment on men’s health benefits not just men, but all the communities they serve.

GOOD VIBES:
We love weekends. That’s why our Fridays finish early for nine months of the year. But we also love our office vibe. Because here, it always feels like something big is about to happen. Be it an office-wide surprise birthday party (with cake!) or an open invite for all to hit the pub.
Come the hairy season, the energy cranks up. We’re talking celebrity visits. Live stunts on-site for TV and radio. And when we hit a fundraising milestone, the office gong might even go off. But, for those who prefer calm, no probs: hybrid working means you work where you feel best.

GOOD CREW:
Spoiler alert: we’re a no-ego, all-impact crew. That means everyone gets a say, from new starters to those leading the charge. Collaboration over hierarchies, curiosity over rigid process. And it’s true across all our offices worldwide. We work as one, sharing expertise and celebrating wins. All in the name of making the biggest impact across the globe. United, we Mo.
We offer:
Hybrid/Flexible working – we offer our team a split of home and office working
13 weeks paid Parental Leave and 6 weeks annual leave
Health Cash Plan – to support the costs of everyday healthcare needs (dental, optical, wellbeing)
An Employee Assistance Programme offering face to face counselling, plus legal and financial support
A fun stimulating and collaborating culture, with company events
Service awards after 3, 5 and 10 year
Committees to join – Culture team, Equity Diversity & Inclusion
Bike to work scheme
Half day Fridays for 9 months of the year

Being different is how we started. And it’s also helped us raise $1 billion for men’s health. So, we know the power of diverse experiences, skills and perspectives.
Movember is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community and workplace - a place where we can all be ourselves, and each have the equal opportunity to succeed and be recognised for our unique contribution. We value the experiences, skills and perspectives of all individuals and actively encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds.
