Research Fellow - Gender Responsive Healthcare (2 Year Contract)
Annual Salary £65,000

We are seeking a Research Fellow in Gender Responsive Healthcare to join our London team.
The Research Fellow in Gender Responsive Healthcare (or Health Systems), situated within the Movember Institute of Men’s Health, will co-establish and lead a research agenda to strengthen the evidence base for the widespread adoption of gender-responsive healthcare for men. This includes initiatives focused on healthcare practitioner education, program development, and policy advocacy, all within the scope of the Gender Responsive Healthcare Portfolio.
The research will have a strong lived experience and intersectionality focus. This will ensure that the Portfolio goals are informed by what’s important to men and those who care for men, and that prioritise the needs of men who experience barriers to effective healthcare engagement and the greatest health burden. Where applicable, appropriate measures of masculinities will need to be applied in the research so that contemporary gender responsiveness is built into Movember’s practitioner education and meets the diversity of masculinities and men’s real-world needs.
The Fellow will also collaborate with and seek opportunities to lift the women’s health research sector around gender responsive healthcare given the shared agenda and alignment of desired outcomes. This gender responsive healthcare research will build on a program of well cited research on masculinities and men’s healthcare barriers and healthcare practitioner education needs and outcomes within the Movember Institute of Men’s Health. It will also include foundational research for the Institute that will catalyse and accelerate men’s health research and its translation into practice across Movember’s markets.
For this role, you’ll need:
- Completed Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., medical or health sciences, psychology, public health, social sciences)
- Expertise in designing and conducting research in men’s health with direct relevance to gender responsive healthcare.
- Experience projects with multiple stakeholders desired.
- Publication record in the field and experience in academic writing of papers, report and successful grant applications
- Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, data analysis, and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R).
- Proven experience in project management, including planning, coordination, and monitoring of research projects.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex research findings to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- As a global role, the person will need to be flexible in working hours, particularly out of hours conference calls
- Flexibility to travel overseas 1-3 times per annum

GOOD CAUSE:
Working for Movember, you’ll help raise millions for men’s health (not for a CEO’s bonus). And all those dollars do a whole lotta good. We’ve funded cancer research. Created lifesaving medicines. And helped make cancer treatments less “one-size-fits-all”, and more specific to each patient’s needs.
We’re even calling for governments worldwide to get it together on men’s health. By meeting directly with policymakers so they change the systems that change men’s health.

GOOD VIBES:
The vibes aren’t just for Fridays – even though we start weekends early nine months of the year. Here, it always feels like something big’s about to happen. Be it an office-wide surprise birthday party (with cake!) or an impromptu all-staff boogie.
Come the hairy season, the energy gets silly. We’re talking celebrity visits. Live stunts on-site for TV and radio. And when we hit a fundraising milestone, the office gong might even go off. And that means one thing: it’s conga time.

GOOD CREW:
Let’s just get this out of the way: big egos need not apply. We’re all about straight-up solid human beings out to do meaningful work. People who’ll help you reach career-best moments. And give you the freedom to get there the best way you see fit.
Hybrid remote working is the norm. And in the office, you can sit where you please. Who knows? On any given day you could even end up desk buddies with the man who started this all.
- Hybrid/Flexible working – we offer our team a split of home and office working
- 13 weeks paid Parental Leave and 6 weeks annual leave
- Health Cash Plan – to support the costs of everyday healthcare needs (dental, optical, wellbeing)
- An Employee Assistance Programme offering face to face counselling, plus legal and financial support
- A fun stimulating and collaborating culture, with company events
- Service awards after 3, 5 and 10 years
- Committees to join – Culture team, Diversity Equity & Inclusion, Movember book group
- Bike to work scheme
- Half day Fridays for 9 months of the year

Boy, do we know the feeling of being judged. (Over how we look, and other things that shouldn’t matter.) Being different is how we started. And it’s also helped us raise $1 billion for men’s health. So, we know the power of diverse experiences, skills and perspectives. A place where we can all be ourselves, and each have the equal opportunity to succeed and be recognised for our unique contribution. We value the experiences, skills and perspectives of all individuals and actively encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds. We make recruitment decisions based on applicants’ skills, experience and knowledge, ensuring all applicants are treated fairly.
Do you want to DO GOOD?
If so, we’d love to hear from you.
